ANGELA BECKEr, L.Ac.
LICENSED ACUPUNCTURIST

As a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist, my mission is to help you achieve your goals of health and wellbeing, whatever that looks like for you. I believe that health is defined differently for each of us, and only we can determine our own path in life.
I obtained my Master of Acupuncture and Master of Oriental Medicine degrees from the Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH). I am committed to being a lifetime learner, and continue to study advanced Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine theories and skills.
I received my Bachelor of Life Science degree from the University of Maryland College Park, where I studied Environmental Science and Policy, Biodiversity, and Conservation Biology. I am an observer of nature, and strive to live in harmony with the seasons.
While in my twenties, I suffered from a general lack of wellbeing. I was dissatisfied with my career. I had chronic aches and pains, including debilitating tension headaches and IBS. I suffered with chronic sinus infections, and was constantly getting sick. I hit a crossroad in my life, and knew that I needed a change. I began investigating natural ways of healing my sinus infections and IBS, the biggest impact occurring after modifying my diet. I stopped taking antibiotics. If I felt like I was getting run down or sick, I allowed myself time to rest. I started getting acupuncture, and the results were life-changing!
My immune system got stronger and I didn't get as sick as often. My headaches became fewer and farther-between. My menstrual cycle regulated and PMS symptoms were drastically improved. My mood swings leveled out, which ultimately benefitted my overall mental and emotional health, and my relationships began to shift. I felt more like myself, something that had been foreign to me before receiving acupuncture.
I was able to shift the course of my life by slowing down, listening to my body, and giving myself what I need. My goal is to help you discover what your body-mind-spirit is asking for. I believe that we all have the capacity to heal ourselves, and ultimately, each of us knows just what we need in order to thrive in life. I work in partnership with you to design practices that will lead you to a better understanding of your symptoms, while utilizing an array of modalities, including acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, cupping, guasha, tuina, Chinese nutritional therapy and wellness coaching, to gently nudge your body-mind-spirit towards health and well-being.
I live in Locust Point with my husband Riddie, and our daughter Nellie. Both of my parents grew up in Locust Point, so I have deep adoration for this community. I love to cook whole, locally-sourced foods and believe that the foundation of all healing lies in the foods that we eat and the relationships that we nurture.
